Pastor Valerie Goodwin
Pastor Valerie Goodwin was born in Orangeburg, SC to the late Pastor Sam and Mrs. Fannie Goodwin. She is the youngest of five children. At the age of two, she moved to Wichita, Kansas with her parents and siblings. It was there, at a church service at Olivet Baptist Church, that she gave her life to Christ at six years old.
Pastor Valerie’s family returned to Columbia, SC, where her father, Pastor Sam Goodwin, founded Stedfast and Unmoveable Ministries in 1983. He held the first service for Stedfast Christian Center in April 1984. Pastor Valerie has served faithfully in the body of Christ at Stedfast for almost 40 years. She began as an usher and overhead worker and has served in every area of Ministry of Helps over the past three decades.
In January 2008, Pastor Valerie began participating in minister’s training under the leadership of Pastor Goodwin. In March 2009, Pastor Valerie preached her first sermon at Stedfast Christian Center. Since that early morning call, she has ministered the Word of God under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. In April 2020, when Pastor Sam and Mrs. Fannie Goodwin went to be with the Lord, she led the Body of Christ at Stedfast through its most difficult time, and in July 2021, she was ordained and appointed the new Pastor of Stedfast Christian Center.
In addition to her siblings, Pastor Valerie is aunt to three nieces, two nephews, one great niece, and one great nephew. She is committed to allowing God to use her to shepherd the church to continue to build “people who are laborers, settled, and loving.”
