Stedfast
and Unmoveable Ministries, a vision from God to Samuel Goodwin on July 16,
1983, became Stedfast and Unmoveable Ministries, Inc., on September 20, 1983.
Stedfast Christian Center is the church which blossomed out of this vision
when a small body of believers began to worship at Dent Middle School, in
Columbia, South Carolina on April 15, 1984 with Pastor Goodwin as founder.
God continued to bless Stedfast. The church moved from Dent Middle School
to 1833 Columbia College Drive on January 27, 1985. The ministry prospered
in this building and many highlights of the ministry's growth were manifested.
On March 15, 1987, the Stedfast congregation moved into its present facility
at 5200 Fairfield Road, Columbia, SC. All of the members of Stedfast pitched
in to make this a special place of fellowship for God's people. Stedfast believes
unequivocally in the salvation and sanctification of unbelievers through the
preaching of the Gospel. The members of Stedfast have prospered spiritually
through the Word of God and financially through tithes and offerings. Pastor
Goodwin's vision for Stedfast manifested itself according to Hebrews 11:1
when on
May 21, 1991, Stedfast purchased twelve acres of land in northeast Columbia
on Clemson Road for the future church. Praises to God are given for this future
elegant hexagonal sanctuary that will be used for His Divine Glory. The total
vision will include a home for the elderly, unwed mothers and disadvantaged
youth also included will be a track field and a physical fitness center. At
Stedfast Christian Center persons grow spiritually, mentally and physically.
Worship services are recorded on audio and video tapes. The audio tapes are
sent around the world weekly at no cost to Stedfast's military and college
members and friends. This is a teaching ministry that provides many sessions
where one can grow in the Word of God. They include Bible Classes, Bible Study,
Women Growing Godly, Men's' Brotherhood, Membership Classes and Single's Ministry
just to name a few. At Stedfast, we are building people who are laborers,
settled and loving. We are on a mission to bring people to the saving knowledge
of Jesus Christ and empowering them to be steadfast in the Word of God as
they fulfill their God-given purpose and become resourceful laborers who represent
Jesus Christ in the earth.
